At the Munich Security Conference 2019, the 16 global partners of the Charter of Trust look back on a successful first year and set ambitious goals for 2019.

Billions of devices are connected by the Internet of Things. That bears great potential for everyone but also great risks. Risk of exposure to cyber-attacks, risk of losing control over the systems that run our homes, our hospitals, our factories, our grids, our infrastructure. Cybersecurity is crucial to the success of our digital economy, so that society can trust in future technologies. But that can´t be achieved alone. We must join forces and act together for our ideas, for our businesses, for our personal lives. We sign for cybersecurity. We sign the Charter of Trust.

Siemens, and the eight founding Charter of Trust members, today welcomed The AES Corporation, Atos and Enel to its global cybersecurity initiative at the 2018 CERAWeek® conference in Houston, TX. With America's energy hub as its backdrop, cybersecurity is a leading topic of conversation at the conference, as energy is the most attacked segment within U.S. critical infrastructure.

At the Munich Security Conference today, Siemens and eight partners from industry will sign the first joint charter for greater cybersecurity. Initiated by Siemens, the Charter of Trust calls for binding rules and standards to build trust in cybersecurity and further advance digitalization.
