Defending against a sophisticated and persistent digital threat landscape is a team sport. We need to work together, share best practices, and grow a diverse generation of defenders for the future.
“The Charter of Trust embodies the values we at Microsoft take seriously: being proactive, open, transparent, and collaborative in developing cybersecurity best practices and enhancing trust. Industry partnership is crucial to addressing the challenges we face today, and we look forward to working with the Charter’s members to drive forward strategies and initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity.”
– Tom Burt, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Customer Security and Trust
Each day, Microsoft analyzes more than 43 trillion signals to detect digital threats and criminal cyberactivity. In addition, Microsoft employs more than 8,500 security professionals to identify criminal activity, remove malicious actors, and translate threat ecosystem learnings into safeguards for our customers. In one year alone, Microsoft blocked 37 billion email threats along with billions more endpoint and identity threats.
As our digital landscape grows larger and more complex, we believe close collaboration with our partners and customers is also more important than ever to improve our collective cyber resiliency in response to rapidly evolving digital threats. Widely available technologies and best practices that can drastically increase cyber resiliency can empower more people and organizations to take protective actions as we navigate our digital lives. Collaborative efforts like the Charter of Trust also bring together industry leaders and civil society organizations to strengthen awareness and adoption of those technologies and practices as well as their relevance for realizing our shared digital future.
“Security is a key enabler of technological success. Innovation and enhanced productivity can only be achieved by introducing security measures that make organizations as resilient as possible against modern attacks. Working together, the Charter of Trust members can help advance the cyber resilience that will enable tomorrow’s innovative technology.”
